My name is Gianna Andrews. Though I prefer to think of myself as a nomad, I am currently sharing my story with the world from Port Angeles, Washington and am native to the Pacific Northwest. I am an artist, adventurer, skier, and lover of the outdoors, seeking artistic inspiration from mountain summits and sea-level escapades. Though the mountains have been apart of my identity from day one, my artistic pursuits began just three years ago during college in Bozeman, Montana, where on a whim I enrolled in a few art classes. I had no idea what I was doing, but that didn't matter. I was just fascinated with figuring it out- enough to stay in the art studio all night once everyone else had left, struggling to master just one little piece of a painting. However, my love story with art did not fully develop until I had a terrible mountain biking wreck in July 2015, resulting in a broken back, no front teeth, and fully abraded body, stripping my mind of the freedom I experience in outdoor adventures. Confined to a back brace for three months, my recovery was spent continuously at the easel, finding freedom in painting mountains instead of climbing them. Art changed my life. It provides an essential balance and perspective to my outdoor pursuits. By sharing my story along with my art, I hope to inspire others to practice what they love and to move forward towards their dreams- even when they seem out of reach!
